what is a good reason for why tobacco smoke is considered a carcinogen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think of whats inside of tobacco. and its very simple so you should be able to figure it out. its whats inside that counts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is considered a carcinogen because cigarette smoking correlates very heavily with lung cancer, an otherwise relatively rare form of cancer. Almost seventy-percent of cigarette smokers eventually develop lung cancer. Of course, it may just be that inhaling any kind of smoke, all day, every day, would cause lung cancer. Firemen, for instance, have a somewhat higher rate of lung cancer.
