OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

do you have any ideas?...like on how to do it? if not, I'll walk you through it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Id guess C. or D. because of the end result.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please walk me through it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

synquence im sorry but i dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats okay mate

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

here's an example: Simplify (x2)4 Just as with the previous exercise, I can think in terms of what the exponents mean. The "to the fourth" means that I'm multiplying four copies of x2: (x2)4 = (x2)(x2)(x2)(x2) = (xx)(xx)(xx)(xx) = xxxxxxxx = x8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so now what @BloomLocke367

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

so when you have 2^3 raised again to the 2nd, you would have (2*2*2)(2*2*2)... that's the first part. does that make sense. so it's also 2^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay @bl

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

so now you can eliminate 2 choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

* @BloomLocke367

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me find the answer and come to a conclusion @BloomLocke367

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

okay. another thing to know is anything to the 0 power is 1. Patience young grasshopper. lol

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

can you tell me the answer now? I'll tell you if you're right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 3rd one

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

ehhhh... why'd you get that. It's wrong...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hm

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

anything raised to the 0=1 so 3^0=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so B?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

no... because remember 2 is raised to the sixth power? (2^6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its sounds like im guessing now, im going to go with A

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

there you go :) do you understand why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ye

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

okay :) if you need anything else, let me know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea bloom that looks right i would go with bloom FYI synquence each question you have Please invite me because i am really good with middle and elementary school math also some high but not alot
