What might happen if there were no checks and balances built in to the Constitution?

Sadly a lot of the checks and balances no longer exist. The only ones that do are one to amend the constitution and two keep us from falling into a dictatorship. The Federal and State Governments across the Nation have formed Bureaucracies that can create regulations and mandates (another word for laws) with out any of the checks and balances congress has too. They can also impose fees (another word for taxes). The people who run these Bureaucracies are appointed and they rule with an Iron fist giving no representation to anyone or anything. The effects from this have been far reaching. It's caused many small business to go out of business completely.
