It was like a haze

This love was happening and I could not rebel

Months turned into years as it grew

A happiness never known

A feeling too good to be true

Was felt in my bones

The sweet warmth became cold

Iambic tetrameter is a line made from four iambs.
An iamb "is a metrical foot consisting of one short (or unstressed) syllable followed by one long (or stressed) syllable."
