Ideas?

OpenStudy (january123):

1 of, what is direct object mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the subject is the restaurant, the verb is served, what did the the restaurant serve? That's like a formula to figure it out, you just need to know what the subject did the verb to and that is the direct object :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think it is?

OpenStudy (january123):

I think it's b

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Indeed it is.

OpenStudy (january123):

Yep! \(\Huge\overbrace{\odot}\) \(\Huge\overbrace{\odot}\) \(\Huge{-}\) \(\Huge{-}\) \(\Huge{\smile}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The direct object is the thing the action is happening to. For example, in the sentence "Jim throws the ball," the ball is the direct object, because it is being thrown. Here, the direct object is meals, because they are being served.
