5x + 2y = 5 3x - y = 14 Which of the following equations is not a result of solving the system of equations by addition? 11x = 19 11y = -55 11x=33

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so you have to use the process of elimination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can do this by solving for the two equations given to you. I assume you already know now to do that so, I will go ahead and say it is \(x = 3,\) \(y = -5\). 1) \(11x = 19\) \(\implies\) \(x = 1.72727272\) 2) \(11y = -55\) \(\implies\) \(y = -5\) 3) \(11x = 33\) \(\implies\) \(x = 3\) Both answer choice 2 and 3 are equal to the solution, however 1 is not, so 1 is your answer. If I assumed wrong on whether or not you know how to solve systems of linear equations let me know, and I will teach you so just ask ^-^
