B would not be it. Petrified wood (or the log in this case) is wood that is polished over ages and hardens. Pretty much is a "tree fossil" if you know what I'm saying. It's not the whole tree itself that sat for ages, so what do you think the answer is? Yes, it does take long ages before bring petrified.
