At a certain hospital, 89 children were born in the month of June. If more children were born on the fifteenth of June than on any other day in June, what is the least number of children that could have been born on the fifteenth of June?

Is 4 a possible answer? You have some really good brain teasers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am certain the answer is 4 because if you spread out the rest of the babies, then every day when have a min of 2 with 25 of the days having 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah 4 is the right answer aha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What i did for an approach to the question was find out how I could spread the babies out evenly. 89-60 = 29. This means every day has 2 babies with 29 left to spread out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since there are 29 left, then I can spread the rest with one day only have 2, and the rest 3, but since the 15 has more then it must be 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that make since? Because I do not know a mathematical equation to demonstrate the answer. That was mostly logic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no yeah that makes sense! Thankyou!!!
