Will SSL/TSL be added to Openstudy pages in the future?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

@e.mccormick do you know what SSL and TSL is about? :O

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Secure Socket Layer, and it is TLS, not TSL. Transport Layer Security. For an open site where nothing is truly private, I do not know why you want to add these. They take up more CPU on both the server and client. So for say email sites or your bank, yes, very important. For here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I suppose that is true. The only sensitive information submitted is the login form. But the server actually has a DigiCert certificate installed on it. Why? Source: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=openstudy.com
