What is the point of being an ambassador?

Ambassadors don't have any powers, but I have heard from other Ambassadors that there are some little quirks. And just to know that you are doing something good to help OpenStudy :)

The point?
If you are a good ambassador: you get recommendation letters from Preetha herself, interning opportunities, and as an ambassador you get to go through training made by @e.mccormick which teaches many useful life communication and leadership skills :)

For OpenStudy:  The ambassadors help create a core set of users that lead by example.  By welcoming new users, answering questions properly, telling others about OS, and so on, they promote proper use of the site.

For the Ambassadors:  We have had OpenStudy Ambassadors use their involvement in the program as a selling point on college entrance forms and for getting jobs.  It was used to show responsibility, communication skills, willingness to give time, etc.  They go through some training in communications at the start and other topics over time.
