The table below represents the displacement of a turtle from its nest as a function of time: Time (Hour) x | 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 Displacement from nest (miles) y | 5, 27 , 49,71,93
Part A: What is the y-intercept of the function, and what does this tell you about the turtle? (4 points) Part B: Calculate the average rate of change of the function represented by the table between x = 1 to x = 4 hours, and tell what the average rate represents. (4 points) Part C: What would be the domain of the function if the turtle continued to walk at this rate until it traveled 225 miles from the nest?
@pooja195
You picked the wrong person to do this :( how about @sammixboo or @hero or @Nnesha
@Data_LG2
I'll give you hints :) Part A: "y-intercept " means when x is equal to zero... assume your x is the time and y is the displacement.. what is the displacement when time is 0? Part B: you have to know the formula for the slope \(\sf \large \frac{displacement@4- displacement@1}{4 hrs-1hr}\) Part C: i'll tell you later after you find the values from parts A and B :)
Ok
@luckycoins888
have you tried what i said? which part are you confused with?
Like I Been Working On This All Week And The Whole Problem I Dont Understand .. Im Not really good in math
are you familiar with the linear equation \(\sf y=mx+b\) ?
Yes
do you know what m and b stands for?
