OpenStudy (chycora):

1. If X=11 inches, Y=9 inches, and Z=6 inches, what is the area of the parallelogram above? 99 inches2 66 inches2 594 inches2 20 inches2

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

I don't see the parallelogram in question, though...

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

You're given the formula. The only thing left to do now is to identify which of those lengths is the base, and which the height. Any ideas?

OpenStudy (chycora):

i think it's 594 inches2

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

What makes you think that?

OpenStudy (chycora):

um i times 11*9*6

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Hmm.. the area of a parallelogram is just base x height. Only two factors, there, silly :P You have one factor too many; one of those numbers given to you in the problem isn't actually necessary ;)

OpenStudy (chycora):

um so it 99

OpenStudy (chycora):

or 66

OpenStudy (chycora):

am i correct @terenzreignz

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Only one of the choices is correct, @chycora And guessing is not the way to get to it ^^

OpenStudy (chycora):

k well i'm postive it's 66

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

oh yeah? :P What if it isn't?
