what does ambassador mean and moderators?
Ambassadors welcome new users, promote the CoC and TaC, stuff like that. We don't have any powers. Moderators enforce the CoC and TaC and do have powers
ohhh how can i become an ambassador or a moderator?
The only thing Ambassadors really have is a pretty purple A next to their name :P
no sleepy thats not true... i have powers... the power of the LAG HAMMER! XD which surprisignly enough i havent been asked by a mod to NOT use it... only "Now is this the way you should be acting" anywho... sleepy dont forget about my powers XD
Jay, don't you dare
Ambassadors are representatives of OpenStudy. We answer questions from new users. We welcome and greet users. It's our job to be the embodiment of OpenStudy's ideologies. Before I go any further, there are strict requirements you must meet. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Be thirteen or older \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Have a form of ID - excluding a birth certificate \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Have no serious offenses on your record \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) If you have serious offenses, an additional process may be required \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Have read the Code of Conduct and Terms, and understand the rules Do you meet these requirements? If so, then please read the next part of the process. There are some key behaviors that Ambassadors must express \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) As an Ambassador, you agree to always be kind and understanding \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) As an Ambassador you should let users know you appreciate them \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Congratulate and reward positive behavior, and discourage negative behavior \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Lead by example! \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Respect the staff - never talk ill of OpenStudy \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Never disclose personal information if shared with you Do you feel like Ambassadorship is something you would want to do? Do you want a bright future with OpenStudy? Then become an Ambassador! [NOTE: The application, or form, is often subject to change. A message will be posted in either the Ambassador Group or OpenStudy Feedback with details on how to submit an application] You can contact @e.mccormick , @thomaster , @shrutipande9 or @hartnn for additional Ambassador opportunities. form link: https://docs.google.com/a/openstudy.com/forms/d/14kZejqKJuYBxuRCxCjwa-rAUtScOYB6KTlrZDmYLTGM/viewform http://blog.openstudy.com/2014/01/30/openstudys-diplomatic-corps/
-_- dont you dare she says... -_- i was goign to actually make the site lag free but fine -_-
Most Important: Never ask to be a moderator. First rule: You must be 18+, due to legal issues. Second rule: You have to be, and act mature. Then you have to win the respect of this community through interaction, knowledge and the ability to interact and intervene in an appropriate manner. It is in big part based on participation, courtesy and respect. The most important thing is that you let the administrators and moderators know that you can see things going awry, and that you are willing to make some effort to solve/prevent it. And certainly NOT in a way like messaging them about how bad you want to be a moderator (this will only work contradictory), but they have to notice that you are up for the job. Then, when they decide they need more moderators, you might get asked. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Being on the site for a fair amount of time. (usually more than 6 months) \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Be an good and active user on the site \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Having a squeaky clean abuse record. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Have good rapport with fellow users. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Having a good sense of justice. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Being an expert in some field. Most of the mods are math geniuses. But any subject would suffice. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Doing a great job in the ambassador program. In the ambassador training period, you'll learn how the rules work on OpenStudy and you'll learn how to make the right decisions. \(\sf\color{blue}{\triangle}\) Hope you'll get lucky when they decide to add more moderators!
I meant don't use the lag hammer, if you can make it go away, then please do
Oh... Well... Would you like a Global speed up or just you?
