If you get shot by a knife shooting gun, would it be considered a gunshot wound or a stab wound?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL. Idk. Gunshot wound? hehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Technically, Stab wound. Cause you got stabbed with a knife, not shot with a bullet by a gun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would be both but Im leaning twords bullet

OpenStudy (whydoihavetosignup1):

gunshot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@NinjaTurds i think its a stab wound.

OpenStudy (whydoihavetosignup1):

How is it a stab would , when it was fired from a gun ......a GUNSHOT does not have to be a bullet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@whydoihavetosignup1 yeah, but u still get stabbed by a knife. the end result is a stab wound; doesn't matter how the knife was thrown

OpenStudy (whydoihavetosignup1):

you get shot by a knife

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

Technically, a bullet would is a special type of puncture would (with a stab wound being another class of puncture). Medical procedures for the two are essentially the same. Source for that ^= I'm a firefighter and random bits of knowledge tend to come out of my head at random times. EMS would call it a stab wound because the knife or otherwise sharp implement is throwing a large projectile. An individual at which a knife was thrown (and the target) would still have the knife would categorized as a stab wound. I figure that the same principle applies for a knife throwing gun. Sorry for rambling..
