Find the perimeter and the area of the rectangle. A. perimeter:54cm, area:180cm B. perimeter:54cm, area:108cm C. perimiter:42cm, area:180cm D. perimeter:42cm,area:108cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have the picture of the rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perimeter is the distance around the rectangle, and area is simply base*height, A = bh

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

wait a sec

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so just do 15*12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for area

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

so 15*12 = 180 for area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and for perimiter add all of the sides so 15+15+12+12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes 180

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

and 15+15+12+12 = 54 for perimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep :)

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

it was actually D. perimeter:42cm,area:108cm @Spamchopper7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, why would you multiply 12 and 15, you should've used pythagorean theorem to solve for the adjacent side, where you will get 9, then 12*9
