Please Help! Cora is graphing the equation y = 12x. She has placed a point on the origin and uses the slope to find 2 more points. Which points does Cora plot on her graph? Choose exactly two answers that are correct. A. (−1, −12) B. (−12, −1) C. (1, 12) D. (12, 1)

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

@EclipsedStar

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

i think it is B and D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

so, i am correct? @Icedragon50

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

when x = 1, what is the value of y? use y = 12x

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

i don't know. what do i need to do?

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

OOH WAIT IS IT A AND C

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

sorry i had no idea caps lock was on

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

@jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah when x = 1, y = 12 y = 12x y = 12*1 ... plug in x = 1 y = 12

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

i had it opposite

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you do the same for x = -1

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

the 1st time

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

this is how you generate points for any graph

OpenStudy (kaloemalia):

thank you @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
