And displacement of ur book frm ground to desk. So its also upward

OpenStudy (shamim):

OpenStudy (shamim):

So angle between ur applying force and displacement is 0 degree

OpenStudy (shamim):

U know w=Fs*cos thata=Fs*cos 0=Fs

OpenStudy (shamim):

Response plz!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ascencion means gain in potential energy and descing is the opposite, hence when you lift a book, you apply a positive work.

OpenStudy (imer):

You lose energy where as book gains energy. Therefore, positive work on book, negative on you.
