WILL GIVE MEDAL HELP Read the following sentence Seeing the massive shark, the divers swam quickly to the surface and scrambled into the boat. Identify the participial phrase in the sentence (options below) A.) swam quickly B.)to the surface C.)scrambled into the boat ( my answer) D.)seeing the massive shark
Well, it's definitely not A or B. This is because A is a normal verb phrase and B is a prepositional phrase. Take a look at: http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/participlephrase.htm for a hint.
Thanks for the help! could you help me more so into helping me with determining if my answer was incorrect @neonumbrella5115 this is just practice for me and i'm trying to get better
Well, I don't want to get in trouble for giving direct answers... A participial phrase acts as an adjective, not a normal verb. So, because the divers are actually scrambling to the boat, C can't be a participial phrase.
Okay thanks so much @neonumbrella5115
