Which of the following describes the slopes of perpendicular lines? same slope opposite slopes reciprocal slopes opposite reciprocal slopes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen @TheSmartOne @Conqueror @confluxepic ???

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

a perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope.....so I think it is the last one.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

for instance....if the slope is 1/3 then the perpendicular slope wold be -3/1 or just -3

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

negative reciprocal means you " flip " the slope and change the sign

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

do you understand ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

this needs to sink into your brain because you will need to learn this

yes . i completely understand now thanks so much !! @texaschic101
