If x can be any number, how many solutions are there for the equation? y = –x A. There is no solution. B. There is only one solution. C. There are two solutions. D. There are many solutions.
@pooja195 @King.Void. @poopsiedoodle @MikeyMaximum
if x can be any number, how many solutions do you think?
the question is just as straight forward as you probably think
i think it is D
you got it
Are you 100% sure?
yes, plug in any value, for x and you will be able to have an infinite amount of y-values
being more explicit, there is only one solution for each ecuation x forms.
@VeritasVosLiberabit can you help me in a couple more plz?
is a tricky question though.
wait what? so its not D?
I was pretty sure for D bro, but it says " If x can be any number" For example: if x=1 you got one solution, if x=0 you got one solution. X can be any number but it always gives you one solution no matter what number you substitute.
that's the trouble here.
oh... so its B
interesting point Morris, let's think about it some more then
I go for B, hard question though lol
ok thx for helping me guys!
In many equations, there can be multiple values that satisfy the equation, so I think if it says that x can be any value, it is saying that any value can satisfy the equation, therefore it should be many solutions.
SO...... i am confused
is it B or D?!?!?!
Jesus this would be a madness lol
I think it is D, since any value satisfies the equation. You have to take all possible values into account as a solution to y
lol
ok sooo... who is 100% sure about their answer?
@AwesomeSays3! perhaps you should get a third opinion, but D still seems like the most accurate answer in my opinion
I have about 90% confidence.
ok
you gotta tell us tomorrow which is the solution, I wanna know this xD
And you Morris?
I am 85% sure bro, as it is a linear ecuation and x cannot take all values at the same time.
Just googled a similar question almost the same and it agrees that D is correct
x can take any value, but not all of them at the same time, so it got to throw us only one solution.
ok i will go with D! :D
@MorrisSHM you want to consider all possible solutions to y
morris and Veritas can you help me in a couple more questions plz?
sure, make a new question and I can help
no problem :)
