Most people in the Ottoman Empire were Sunni Muslims while most people in the Safavid Empire followed Shi'ite Islam. What was the result of this cultural difference? A. People weren't very open minded back then and honestly still aren't really now, so I'd assume they've been through at least a couple wars.
