who was the first person to see a cell?

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Hey, @ursula_hhh , \(\Large\cal\color{#f9bec7}{Welcome~to~OpenStudy!}\) I believe the first person to see a cell was Robert Hooke. You can go a little more in depth and take a look at this site. It's got a little bit of information on cell theory and includes a cell theory time line. http://www.cpschools.com/schools/osm/theory.htm

Robert Hooke Cells of course were discovered much earlier. The first person to see a cell was Robert Hooke. He used a very primitive microscope, but when he was looking at cork cells under the microscope he saw cells for the first time.
