The great Native American leader, Tecumseh (1768-1813), sought to unify diverse Native tribes as part of an effort to found a strong and independent Native nation in the central region of the North American continent. Operating out of what would later become the state of Indiana, Tecumseh chose to cooperate with the British during the War of 1812 -- only to lose his life in battle in 1813. Hope that helps :P I studied about him before.
