Funny I wast just reading that. I think the theme is that in the end, nobody really wins. This is supported by the fact that even though Abdul-Karim won the first race, the rematch never occurred, and he was shot dead by accident when he was supposed to be interrogated to obtain information--since he is now dead, they have lost the information. Hope this helped :/
