Help me understand what it means if a story is a third person limited omniscient POV?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Third person omniscient is when the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story, as opposed to only knowing the thoughts of one character, or knowing the thoughts of none of them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, but what is limited omniscient?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, my bad! Limited omniscient is when it doesn't tell the feelings/thoughts of the character.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what if it tell the thoughts from only one character, but is still somewhat-all knowing? Is that limited omniscient?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Third person limited omniescient is when the author talks about the character in the third person (he talks ABOUT the character but not though him) but knows the feelings and thoughts of ONLY that person
