1. In Uganda, the Rwenzori Mountains are an important part of the environment. The Nile River flows through them, and they hold many endangered species. This area has been threatened by civil war from 1977–1986 and again in 1997–2001. Rebel soldiers and poachers did great damage to the local wildlife during this time.
