The definition of a simple polygon is: A polygon is simple if the boundary of the polygon does not cross itself. So I'll assume that you are asking about simple polygons. In that case the sum of the angles of a simple polygon with n sides is: 180 * (n-2) So for this problem: 180 * (n - 2) = 1440 n - 2 = 8 n = 10
