I have a NEW suggestion for OS... Might be what OS is looking for.
***DRUMROLL***
Since users use profanity allot and we have filters that auto correct profanity words to some other random words. Why dont we put a sensor with those filters so when someone uses profanity and the filters catch it, it automatically reports it and puts it in the mod report bin.
What if you are asking a question about a person and all that. You keep on saying their name, you keep on getting reported for that, and then baboom you are community suspended for saying Ex:(Charles wingspanens) too many times
I know some websites that the word doesn't even show up. I'm not sure if OS has this or not. But this is a great Idea.
But that's true, too, Sammi.
hmm well then @sammixboo #1 no user is suppose to have profanity in their username #2 Mods always give warnings first then the suspension.
Nope, with so many reports you can be automatically suspended
If there was some sort of misunderstanding then that person can email abuse@openstudy.com
I am not talking about the username either. I am talking about an actual person named that
Happens pretty often xD
Oh sorry I misunderstood ur comment
Well when we report someone, it automatically sends the complete comment your reported to the mod report bin. If it's in a post its extremely easy for a mod to see what was posted and mods usually take the time to look at what was reported.
Seems like a good idea. The admins just have to add the last names onto the whitelist.
Let's say someone makes a post asking about Charles Dicckens. You are obviously going to say the name multiple times since you are going to be talking about him. So if you say Charles Dicckens 5 times, that means you get automatically reported 5 times, which means boom! community suspension!
Ever notice how ambassador isn't filtered.
@sleepyjess like I said mods will get the report and if its in a post its much easier to decide in which way you used it.
But the person will still get community suspended
._. Im not talking about a community suspension.... my suggestion is for the profanity filter to have a sensor and that sensor will automatically report the user using profanity (not suspend them).
But if a user gets so many reports in a short period of time, they are automatically community suspended.
Too many abuse reports can suspend a user. Unless you want them to change that part. @just_one_last_goodbye
._. Well #1 they were spamming #2 they were using profanity #3 i dont know about you but when I signed up for OS I agreed to obey within the boarders of the OS CoC.
You wouldn't be spamming if you're using someone's name though. Like @sleepyjess 's example with Charles Dicckens.
If you ask a question about Charles Dicckens, #1 how are you spamming? #2 they are asking about a person, not using profanity. #3 everybody agrees to the CoC and TaC, but asking about a person, such as Charles Dicckens, is not against the CoC
If I say John Hanwingspan and I get an automatic abuse report that doesn't mean that I violated the code of conduct.
^^^^
Or shrimp Wingspantail
Right
/.\ people I said mods will look into the abuse report. Also community suspensions take more than 20 reports. Dont tell me your going to put a name using profanity more than 20 times before a mod can look into it.
No, community suspensions are only 5 reports.
really? because when I use to be in the OSSF we would all report and the user kept doing whatever he/she wanted.
Only takes 5 reports, yup
20 reports is absurd
my suggestion
so...
;-; @sleepyjess i was just poop green and i deleted my comment cause i wanted to see my last time as yellow and now it wont let me be green again.
lol
