I get a lot of lag when using OpenStudy, most of the time for simple actions like, opening a question or trying to post a reply to a question. I've tried both chrome and firefox same issue happens.
well it does happen in chrome but i havent noticed anything in firefox
I think its just the site im using chrome...its happens alot
I think it happens to every user... :/
same i use chrome
^Same
^Same on Firefox http://openstudyfeedback.uservoice.com/forums/95895-customer-feedback/suggestions/3293266-loading-problems
I don't think the issue if browser dependant, I think the issue is the site itself.
They are tweaking this, that, and the other to help with the lag.
Long running script and unresponsive script - is this script the cause of the lag? I get the message on IE, Foxfire, and Chrome. Once I log in on OS, the problem begins - 10 seconds to post before the the webpage begins to fade which is followed by a script message. Then, after clicking on the "stop script," I have 10 seconds of "live" time on OS and the cycle repeats. Whatever the problem, it appears not to be browser dependent.
Foxfire Unresponsive Script
Hard for me to say if it is the script or the server side stuff the script is trying to talk to.
@e.mccormick I have tried the suggested fixes posted on the web. Nothing has worked so far. I do not know which side is the problem. OpenStudy is the only website on which the issue manifests itself.
They also have a pretty large RAM load for the site. I hope all that gets better with all these little tweaks that they are doing.
New layout, still a noticeable amount of latency exists between actions. The post button works though :)
