WILL FAN AND MEDAL FOR BEST HELP!!! What is the primary role of the respiratory system in living organisms? A.) to make carbon dioxide B.) to obtain oxygen C.) to use up nitrogen D.) to find hydrogen Ok, im super confused. i know it is most likely B, but i think it could be A.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea. but our body also needs to make carbon dioxide right? or is it that we need to get rid of it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im just gonna try B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok sorry still getting used to this.yes we get rid of carbon dioxide

OpenStudy (matt101):

The answer is 100% option B. Your respiratory system does not MAKE CO2, it only excretes it. Every cell in your body produces CO2 as a by product of cellular respiration (the main energy-producing process in cells).
