Can someone help me workout this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If f is any function with a period of 9, determine the period of each related function. y=4f((1/3)x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure if the equation is clear, but it is 1/3 times x

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i would go with \[\frac{9}{\frac{1}{3}}=9\times 3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the period is 27?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@misty1212

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i think so yes

OpenStudy (misty1212):

like the period of sine is \(2\pi\) and the period of \[\sin(bx)\] is \[\frac{2\pi}{b}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

someone helped me with a similar problem but solved it differently the equation was y=(1/2)f(2x+3)-3 and the answer they gave me was 9x(1/2)=4.5 is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@misty1212

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's the same question just a different equation

OpenStudy (misty1212):

in this case \(b=2\) so period is \(\frac{9}{2}\)

Okay thank you so much!
