2. A motif is an concept that is repeated throughout a work of literature that has a symbolic significance and contributes to the overall theme of that work. Identify how Shelly has used the weather as a motif throughout the novel. Then, re-visit Victor Frankenstein’s descriptions of the weather conditions at Ingolstadt at the end of Chapter 6. What is the weather at this point in the novel? Use direct quotes to help you answer this. How does the use of weather here fit with the overall weather motif that Mary Shelley has established in this novel?
