OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b i guess, I need the passage to be sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay now I need to see the passage that this question is based on. do you have it @parissfrance09?

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

okay il show you th passage

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

Flea markets, like bazaars, are a great way to find hidden treasures. Sure, many of the things that you find from a flea market may be true junk. However, out of all the junk, there are some valuable items that can be sold again. Some people go out to flea markets in the belief that they will find something that was worthwhile. This belief has been around for centuries. The first flea markets were believed to be in France. They call the market le marche aux puces. This translates into the term flea market. The market was called so because many of the items being sold may have had fleas. Nowadays, this might not always be the case. However, one thing remains true. People go to flea markets to find things that will be valuable to them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty sure its B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From what I see in the passage, people will go to the market to find something valuable. So your answer is most likely the opposite. Which one would that be @parissfrance09?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can't give out answers @alextable.

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

is it A??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite right @parissfrance09. You see the sentence, "People go to flea markets to find things that will be valuable to them." this means that A is not right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@parissfrance09 where did you go?

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

isnt paraphrase when you take something and reword it??

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

@AMYCARTER

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but the question says which sentence FAILS to paraphrase.

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

yes so wouldnt that be A because its just repeating what the paragraph just said ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, because that is paraphrasing it. It is summarizing what you just read. Which answer choice isn't paraphrasing it right?

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

B??

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

@alextable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That seems like the most likely.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes @parissfrance09 B would be the most reasonable answer.

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

it was C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How is that?

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

@AMYCARTER @alextable

OpenStudy (parissfrance09):

This answer choice is almost exactly the same as the last sentence in the second paragraph. The person who wrote this sentence replaced the word "valuable" with a similar word, "important." This change isn't enough for paraphrasing. this is why it says @AMYCARTER
