Which ruler was defeated at the battle of Salamis? A. Philip of Macedonia B. Pericles of Athens C. Leonidas of Sparta D. Xerxes of Persia A!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"In the center, a group of Greek ship managed to push through the Persian lines cutting their fleet in two. The situation for the Persians worsened through the day with the Ionian Greeks being the last to flee. Badly beaten, the Persian fleet retreated towards Phalerum with the Greeks in pursuit. In the retreat, Queen Artemisia of Halicarnassus rammed a friendly ship in an effort to escape. Watching from afar, Xerxes believed that she had sunk a Greek vessel and allegedly commented, "My men have become women, and my women men." This leads me to think that Xerxes of Persia is the leader that was defeated....I am not sure, though. ;c
