Question

You have 20 dimes and nickels in a jar. The total amount of money is $3.05.How many of each kind of coin do you have?
Im thinking this is asking for equations......still having trouble creating them...
Dont give me just answers i need to learn this

n = nickel
dime = .10
nickel = .5
make one equation with all $money
and another equation d + c = total number of dime and nickel in the jar

total =3.05
