It is said that basing fuel from alcohol is more effective than when using fossil fuels. It is true. After all, the difference is that burning alcohol releases quite less amount of CO2 than the fossil fuels would. The reaction maintains for organic compounds, including alcohol: alcohol + O2 - CO2 + H2O + ashes.
