MEDALL AND FANNN How does the distance between the planet Earth and the Sun compare with the distances between the planet Earth and other stars? The other stars are many thousands of times closer to Earth than the Sun. The Sun is many thousands of times closer to Earth than any other star. The Sun and all the other stars are the same distance from Earth. About half of the other stars are closer to Earth than the Sun.

the sun is many thousands of time closer to earth then to other stars

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

our Sun is approximately 8 light minutes away from Earth. Proxima Centauri, the nearest star, is 4.2 light years away from Earth. you should be able to calculate the scale from that.
