can someone please help me with this? What are the degree and leading coefficient of the polynomial? −10+6v+18v^2+15v^3

OpenStudy (amorfide):

the degree is the largest power, and the coefficient would be, once written in orders of powers of v, the first number you read for example if i had -5+5m+19m^2 + 21m^3 I would re write it to get 21m^3 +19m^2 + 5m - 5 the degree would be 3, and the coefficient would be 21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so mine would be 18v^2+15v^3-10+6v? so the degree would be 2 and the coefficient would be 21?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amorfide

OpenStudy (amorfide):

the highest power you have is 3, so you should write 15v^3 first

OpenStudy (amorfide):

so the leading coefficient will be the number infront of the largest power of v and the degree of the polynomial is the largest power of v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the degree is 3 and the coefficient is 15?

OpenStudy (amorfide):

yes well done
