OpenStudy (elise_a18):

You want a medal? The graph of f(x) = 2x + 4 shifts five units to the right when it is replaced with the graph of f(x) = 2x - k. What is the value of k? -5 -1 1 5

Nnesha (nnesha):

are you sure... is that right ?? \[\huge\rm a(x-h)^2 + k\] in this equation k tell you to shift up or down some units and h is to shift left or right which suppose ot be in parentheses

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

Are you sure it's not five units to the left?

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

Because as far as I'm aware none of those options give you the correct answer

Nnesha (nnesha):

not the answer i mean question is also wrong graph is shifts 5 units to the right and there is not any h in the equation and they are asking for k

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

I'm 100% sure :/

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

I appreciate both your help though :) Thanks for drawing attention to my problem :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

it can't shift right or left there is not any parentheses if you lloook at the equation i gave you there is h in the parentheses in the equation which tell you to shift graph some unit left or right if h is negative shift right side if h is positive then shift it left side of the graph
