Consider the ring of polynomials in 2 variables over any field R = K[x,y]
a) show that the elements x and y are relatively prime
b) Show that it is impossible to write 1 = p(x,y)x + q(x,y)y with p, q in R
c) Show that R is not a principal ideal domain
