Guys!! how about we have OS messenger app? Like, instead of having pms in the OS app, would could have a separate app for pms
similar to facebook messenger
but being able to log in with OS login and password
(fyi for people who dont know about fb messenger, the login is phone number)

But if you are not on messenger, how would you get the messages? I try to reach people by messaging them sometimes, but if they can't instantly see the message, then that would be hard for me to get help from them. But it does seem like a fun idea. I however prefer the messaging method we currently have on OS

Yes, because the purpose of openstudy is to serve as an instant messenger. What a great idea!*sarcastic* We are on a STUDY website, so why even suggest a messenger. It's not OpenMessenger, its OpenSTUDY! If we don't have private chats I doubt were getting an im soon. Also the Dev's are kind of fixing the important stuff like lag and server issues.

Now think of it like this, your in school on the 'NEW' openstudy messenger. 3rd period in chemistry and your teacher catch's you texting in class, you would say "No, look im on Openstudy, the study website. Im just trying to get help on a problem." He would take the phone and of course look at the screen and if you locked it he could give it to a dean and ask your parents to unlock it if you refuse. (they have a right to read your texts, maybe read your school CoC.). Then they would notice this fabulous study website that you talked so highly about. Next , is the actual messages which I 100% guarantee will be everything but school related. How do you think that will affect OS's rep?

having a messenger is not a bad thing for OS
i like talking with people here, i like asking interesting questions, and talking about different study stuff, i dont think its bad, since i get to know about interesting people and learn new stuff from them. Sometimes its not comfortable to talk about these,thought are study related, in open questions
so yeah, im sure there are others like me too
