Plz Help!!!!! Medal+Fan Which step should be completed first to solve the equation 8x-12=13 ? A. Add 12 to both sides. B. Add 13 to both sides. C. Divide both sides by 8. D. Subtract 13 from both sides. Im pretty sure its B.

OpenStudy (theedwardsfamily):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you think B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in the problem you gotta get 8x by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Adding 13 will change it to 8x + 1 = 26... Which does you no good. Adding 12 gives you 8x = 25, isolating the variable.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so to do that what are you gonna do about that -12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TSwizzle didn't you just yell at me for simply giving the answer instead of 'teaching'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are gonna what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plus by 12 to get 8x by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the first step plus by 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@GhastlyPack I at least explained.
