i need to combine like terms and the problem is 8=3(3x+8)-x plz help @mitchal

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

well we know that the first step is to multiply the 3 into 3x and 8 so what does that give us?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9x

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

and what is 8 times 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

ok so now you have 8=9x+24-x so combine your x's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 8=9x-x+24

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

itd be 8=10x+24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay now wat lol

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

then youll subtract 24 from 8 and what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay you got to distribute the property and so 8= 3(3x+8)-x so we do the Pemdas and the Parathesis goes first and we do the distrivbute property on the 3 (3x+8) so 3 times x is 9x 3 times 8 is 24 so 8=9x+24-x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got tht

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay we need to combine like terns the x's so 9x - x +24 so it be 8x + 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause 9x muis 1x is 8x i noticed that the guy up above..added them up which changes the whole thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so 8=8x+24 would be done, cause it cannot be simifly any more ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx @mitchal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem baby @shay16 ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me with another one :) @mitchal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay hold on
