Question

Why do christians wear the cross necklace. If you really think about it it is..for
lack of better words strange. Why would you want to wear a necklace of what Jesus DIED on? It may seem as if it is honoring him but..How?

This is considered one of the most sacred symbols of Christianity. Since this is what Jesus saved humanity from sin on, even if that meant at the cost of his own life. He is our savior, and because he saved us, it is important to show that

@Zyi6 Yes, it is what he may have died on but, look at it this way if someone you REALLY cared about was murdered, it would be like asking the police for the gun they were killed with so you could wear it..If you want to show your love for Jesus, you can show it by worshiping him whole heartedly....

Well, it might be weird wearing a gun necklace, but I don't like the comparison lol. If my friend were crucified, a cross necklace in memory of them would be very meaningful to me. And if my friend were shot, I would remember them when I saw a gun.. it's not really about jewelry, but when Christians look at the cross, we remember Jesus, and I guess people wanted to bring that with them :P

Actually we go against it, mostly we think that catholics do that, I'm from like @Chiko_1278 , our faith is bigger so we don't need any cross or anything,everything we learned and believe in is etched into our hearts

If you worship the cross and put it above God, yes. I don't really worship my necklaces, and instead of worshiping the cross itself, I see it as symbolism for Jesus. I don't pray to the cross and sing to the cross, anything like that xD

I know its really annoying to be honest.
And what makes it worse is they can be wearing a cross or a jw.org pin and doing "things..you shouldn't do lol and its no giving god or religions even a good name, and i feel like thats why so many people are agnostic...(Didnt use the word sins because we a re all imperfect and all commit them)

It's not a symbol of death, rather a symbol of new life given to us, when we did nothing to deserve it. It should've been us hanging there on the cross, but God sent His son to take our place, so we might gain new life, and it leaves me thanking Him for the should've been.

In the Roman Catholic Church the Priest and Nuns usually display a Crucifix but as for the normal person practicing the Religion I have never found them wearing a cross. They may have a Rosary for private devotionals but not for public display. Personally if you can't tell if a person is a Christian by their actions then garbs mean nothing.

More Catholics do that, they have the cross with Jesus, but if ur Christian I guess it's ok with you! But we personally (my family) we don't like to... Well, it's hard to explain, like we don't like to sort of remind.. Idk something like that... My mom dosnt like it if we wear it cause we don't need to be remind with a visual picture of his holy body we already knower it happened... Idk if that's make a little sense xD
