Why was Plato skeptical about democracy?

OpenStudy (the_mobster):
He believed that the majority of human beings were governed by their sensual organs as opposed to reason. He believed that a citizen lost in a democracy developed an unhealthy soul based on acting as the majority does, instead of doing what is right. Plato/ Socrates coined the idea of "tyranny of the majority."
