Can I get some help with a math question? Simplify. –7 + 2(x – 3) A. x – 10 B. x – 13 C. 2x – 10 D. 2x – 13

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

1. We distribute: \[-7 + (2)(x)+(2)(-3)\]

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

\[= -7 + 2x + -6\]

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Now we combine like terms:\[-7 + 2x + -6 = (2x) + (-7 + -6)\]

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

\[= 2x + -13\]

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

and thats the answer ^

OpenStudy (unanimoose):

And adding -13 is just the same as subtracting 13, lol.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

exactly ^
