OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so... what's 10ft? the whole bottom base, or just the portion before the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula for the finding the area of a trapezoid is 1/2 h (b1+b2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that little triangle inside of the trapezoid looks like a 30 60 90 triangle so the bottom piece of the triangle would be 4 and the height of the trapezoid would be 4 square root 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ten feet is the whole bottom part of the trapezoid @NYLA4515

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so lets plug the numbers in into the equation 1/2 4square root 3(b1+10) we don't know b1 yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b1 would be 6 so the new equation would be 3.46(6+10) which equals 55.43 feet
