If your heart is NOT strong enough or efficient enough, it is difficult to... A) stretch B) lift weights C) breathe D) perspire

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

Which do you think is the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Either stretch or lift weights. I think stretch is the most suitable answer because when we do it, it causes pain in the chest. And heart is in the left corner of it.

OpenStudy (academicgurusinc):

Think about people that have non-efficient hearts - the elderly, those with an abonormal condition. What similarities do you see between them? When is the last time you saw an 80 year old man at the gym lifting weights? That is not to say that 80 year old men can't, it depends how fit they are and how healthy their lifestyle is. But on average, it is very difficult for an older person to lift weights or exercise in general. Why do you think that is? When you go have an intense 30 minute cardiac session (running, yoga, zumba) what happens to your heart rate? Is it going slower or faster? It goes much faster compared to your base heart rate. You are putting stress on your cardiac system through rigorous exercise. This is why people work out, because it increase the metabolism.
