we're doing synthetic division but idk where to start for these problems??? one "for what value of k does x^2 + kx + 4 yield the same remainder when divided by either x-1 or x+1?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he didn't explain any of these problems, only the basic synthetic division part, and everyone else seems to be getting it but i have no idea what to do??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i figured that one out but what about this one? \[divide 2x ^{4}-12x ^{3}+27x ^{2} - 54x+81 by (x-3)^{2}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x-3)^2 just means (x-3) and (x-3) if you figured out how to accomplish the first one, then this one is the same basic concepts.
