George is folding a piece of paper to make an origami figure. Each time he folds the paper, the thickness of the paper is doubled. The paper starts out flat, with a thickness of 1 millimeter. A. Write a list of six ordered pairs showing the output as the thickness of the paper when the input is the number of times it is folded. Explain how you came up with your ordered pairs. B. Is this relation a function? Explain why or why not using the ordered pairs you came up with in Part A. (5 points)

@miguelsbaby01 are you there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea am here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Gabylovesyou

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

you could lso double it and get 2 millimiters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need the coordinates

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

the is there a pic i cant do nothin without it

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

*then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theres no pic

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

well then im not sure srry tag me on any other of your questions though

Which of the sets of ordered pairs represents a function? A = {(–4, 5), (1, –1), (2, –2), (2, 3)} B = {(2, 2), (3, –2), (9, 3), (9, –3)} (4 points) Only A Only B Both A and B Neither A nor B @Holly00d1248

Amanda sells homemade birthday cakes for a profit of $39 per cake. She is considering switching to a new type of icing that will increase her profit, as expressed by the function y = 45x, where x is the number sold and y is the amount of profit. How many more dollars will Amanda earn on each cake if she switches to the new material? Explain how you found your answer. (5 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont like math

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

I love math what are u good at

OpenStudy (anonymous):

physics

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

Hey could you like help me sometime im not good at physics

can u help me with this one Amanda sells homemade birthday cakes for a profit of $39 per cake. OpenStudy (anonymous):

every time he folds the paper thickness doubles so the thickness will be like 2,4,8,16 so you can generalize it as 2^n where n is the number of folds i hope you can now form the function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2nd question...neither A nor B coz one value of domain can only pair with only one value of co domain ..... (a,b) where a belongs to the domain and b to codomain and it voids in both of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would my coordinates would be (1,2) (2,4) (3,8) (4,16)??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did it right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have one more question and its above the one about amanda?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3rd one... if she uses the original mixture them profit is 39$ and if new then the 45$ so she will make 6 $ extra on each cake..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks sooo much!

Which of the following has a graph that is a straight line? (4 points) Equation 1: y = 2x + 7 Equation 2: y2 = x – 1 Equation 3: y = 2x2 + 4 Equation 4: y = 3x3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

input is getting reduced by 3 each time so.. c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its equation 1 equation for a straight line =mx+c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+c sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which statement best explains whether y = 2x – 3 is a linear function or a nonlinear function? (4 points) It is a linear function because the graph contains the points (0, –3), (1, –1), (2, 1), which are on a straight line. It is a nonlinear function because the graph contains the points (0, –3), (1, –1), (2, 1), which are not on a straight line. It is a linear function because the graph contains the points (–3, 0), (–1, 1), (1, 2), which are on a straight line. It is a nonlinear function because the graph contains the points (–3, 0), (–1, 1), (1, 2), which are not on a straight line.

Which statement best explains whether the table represents a linear or nonlinear function? Input (x) Output (y) 0 1 1 2 2 4 3 16 (4 points) A.It is a linear function because there is a constant rate of change in both the input and output values. B.It is a nonlinear function because there is a constant rate of change is both the input and output values. C.It is a linear function because the output values are increasing at different rates. D.It is a nonlinear function because the output values are increasing at different rates.
